Once we had finished Yellowstone National Park in Montana, we made our way onto Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The two parks are extremely close, so visiting both in one trip is very feasible! We spent two days in the Grand Tetons, and one day in Yellowstone.
Our first day in the Grand Tetons consisted of seeing Jackson Lake, paddle boarding at Jenny Lake, visiting the Teton Village, and watching sunset at an overlook of the mountains. The overlooks are all along the same road and fairly close together, all offering very similar views. our favorite was definitely Schwabacher Landing.
Our second day, we got up and caught sunrise at Schwabacher Landing. It was definitely awesome seeing sunset and sunrise at the same location. After sunrise, we hiked to Delta Lake. The trail to Delta Lake is off one of the main trails and is an unmarked, unmaintained trail. It was very challenging as the entire trail is uphill and the very last portion is very steep while you’re also climbing over a giant rock wall consisting of huge boulders. The lake was absolutely gorgeous and the water was crystal clear and a beautiful turquoise color. It sits in Glacier Gulch and the view is incredible. After the hike to Delta Lake, we spent some time in Jackson Hole and then finished the day watching sunset at the Snake River Overlook.
The Grand Tetons was also a park that wasn’t necessarily at the top of my list, and it’s safe to say we were blown away by its beauty.
