I’ve been to the Grand Canyon before but never in the national park itself. The last time I visited the area it was on a backpacking trip with Brady to Supai. I thought it would be nice to explore the park itself so when Brady planned a trip to visit his family in Arizona I got to sneak away for a couple of days for a solo adventure through the canyon.
I spent the first evening there tackling the Desert View section. I got to see all of the gorgeous view points with my favorites being Lipan and Navajo. I ended the day with a sunset hike to Shoshone point, which had a stunning panoramic view.
The next day I caught sunrise at Yavapai Point followed by Hermits Road with Mojave and Pima being the best lookouts in my opinion. I finished with Grand Canyon Village hitting up some final viewpoints and hiking the South Kaibab trail which was the main attraction for me! The staircase that leads straight out into the canyon is incredible and Ooh-Aah point was fun to see!
The park exceeded my expectations and getting to do a solo hiking trip was a special experience for me 🙂
