Our good friends, Katy and Cory have been talking about going to Costa Rica for a while now and finally the dream became a reality when we planned the trip this winter!
Originally, it was supposed to be a couples trip, but when Brady wasn’t able to go due to a work conflict, I decided to invite my brother to be my plus one haha! So then it became three “couples” including us, the Hummels and the Raymond’s. We had never met the Raymond’s before, but we instantly all clicked and the group vibe was awesome!
We flew into San Jose and drove to Dominical where we had the pleasure of staying at one of their friend’s houses who lives there. His place is tucked up in the jungle on a ridge line that entails a steep, winding gravel road that gains crazy elevation to get there. We saw sloths, monkeys, and toucans while staying there and spent lots of time at the infinity pool that overlooked the ocean.
We spent our first few days visiting multiple beaches where we had tropical drinks, swam in the ocean, and got our hair braided like a total tourists. One day we went zip lining on the longest zip line in Latin America. Another day we hiked to the gorgeous Nuayaca Falls and spent the day swimming in the lower falls. On the hike in we saw my all time favorite butterfly the Blue Morpho!
We spent one night in Jacó to experience the vibrant nightlife and the other evenings we went out to the local restaurants and bars for amazing food, drinks, and karaoke!
Not only was Costa Rica so beautiful to see and experience, but the group of people I was with absolutely made the trip. They are the most carefree, easy-going, fun people to be around and we all had an absolute blast!
